Friends of Kelley C. Cofer Park Organizational Meeting

TCA in 2010 helped organize a “Friends of Tucker and Smoke Rise Parks,” with the goal of encouraging a “Friends of (a Local) Park” for each of Tucker’s and Smoke Rise’s parks. TCA held a community meeting on this subject in May, and we’re happy that meeting had a tangible outcome: a group of local residents has now formed a “Friends of Kelly Cofer Park.” This group will hold an organizational “kick-off” meeting at which DeKalb County speakers from Natural Resources and Ayanna Williams from Park Pride will explain the steps involved in establishing a “Friends” group and the discussions necessary to set priorities.
